First offers a wide package of diversionary initiatives to help crack down on vandalism and crime in Glasgow , including 'First Football' and 'The Deck'. First also actively participates in the Restorative Justice Programme.

With a fleet of over 1,000 buses in Glasgow , approximately 8,000 bus windows are broken every year. In addition, 18,000 seats are replaced each year due to acts of vandalism, amounting to over £1 million of damage per year – this is just the cost of materials and labour, and does not take into account loss of revenue or disruption to services. As well as being an unnecessary cost, reckless and anti-social acts of vandalism are also a risk to both our passengers and staff.

Restorative Justice Programme

First actively participates in the Restorative Justice Programme, which finds ways in which young people can make amends for the damage or hurt caused by their actions. The Restorative Justice Programme aims to reduce the rates of re-offending and amount of low-level crime across Glasgow. Click here for further information on the Restorative Justice Programme.
