First in Manchester carries approximately 100 million passengers each year and its 900 buses operate approximately 35 million miles each year.

The fleet consists of 34 articulated buses, 148 double deck buses, 520 single deck buses, and 198 midi and minibuses.  A £35 Million investment between 2008/2010 will see 200 new double deck vehicles added to the fleet.

The company employs 2,400 people, who are made up of 1,900 drivers, 300 engineering staff (including cleaners, semi-skilled and skilled staff) and 200 staff in supervisory, administrative and managerial roles.

First in Manchester operate a total of 190 local bus routes which all have different characteristics of frequency, days/times of operation as well as purpose.  The routes vary from weekend Night buses serving Manchester City Centre and Wigan to school buses operated on behalf of local passenger transport authorities and private school trusts.
